Level One Course (20 hours)

 

Course Objectives:

  • Introduction to simple functional language for asking a patient for information
  • Identification of key vocabulary for the comprehension of patients’ symptoms
  • Learn essential medical terms
  • Construction of sentences and phases to use when examining the patient
  • Basic phrases for advising on treatment and medication
  • Take home message

a) Meeting students and learning the language for greetings suitable for doctor and patient, as well as teacher and students. Getting basic patient information

 

b) Practising pronunciation of medical terms for external parts of the body and common ailments related to those parts.

c) More detailed language for describing a condition, using various ways of finding out what the problem - touching the patient, explaining what the doctor is doing, pressing various parts of the body, examining closely, etc.
